OpenAI has Launched ChatGPT Plus for $20 per Month
OpenAI has released a new test subscription plan for ChatGPT, their text-generating AI that can generate convincingly human-like essays, poetry, emails, lyrics, and more. The company hopes to capitalize on the service’s meteoric rise in popularity. OpenAI claims that their premium service, ChatGPT Plus, which costs an additional $20 per month and provides a number of advantages over the free tier of ChatGPT, including uninterrupted use of the service during peak hours, quicker response times, and early access to new features and improvements, is worth the cost.
There will be no changes to the free ChatGPT tier in the near future. At the present time, ChatGPT Plus is exclusively offered to consumers in the United States. OpenAI says it will begin inviting people on its waitlist in the coming months and is planning to expand Plus to new nations and areas “soon.”
“We introduced ChatGPT as a research preview so that we could learn more about the system’s strengths and weaknesses and seek user feedback to help us improve upon its limits,” OpenAI noted in a blog post. Since then, “millions of people” have shared their thoughts, “we’ve made several important updates,” and “users have found value across a range of professional use cases,” such as writing and revising content, coming up with new ideas, getting assistance with programming, and expanding their knowledge base.
